Stupid Snow

Well folks, it's been awhile. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of stuff on George uploaded to my computer yet, but let me assure you-- stuff was on George, and pictures were taken.

I'm currently at work. It's Friday and I work from noon until 9 pm on desk. Good times! It's actually been a fairly good shift-- not too busy, and pretty simple problems. But Mother Bear's spaghetti and meatballs is on its way to me! Woohoo!

Things have been semi-chaotic, but not horrible. My classes are finally ending. And you know what? GROUP PROJECTS SUCK! DONG! I had group projects in almost all of my classes. I wish professors would realize that college students all have conflicting schedules, and if you put people in groups of 3 - 5 (or more), they will have about a half hour time when they can all meet. I wish Jim Saraceno taught my classes. The only homework would be to ask questions on his blog, and/or to research questions asked by Adam Saraceno and Eric Glass.

So, I guess I must comment on the snow. Well, I have nothing but bad things to say about it (I should probably take my happy pill soon). So, Ted and I have been planning for months to see a SWEET show at the Vogue in Broad Ripple, consisting of Reverend Horton Heat, The Supersuckers and Split Lip Rayfield. The show was last night at 8 pm. Of course, it started snowing heavily at noon yesterday, and didn't stop until about midnight. But, we were determined to be at this show, so we started driving, slowly but surely, to Indy.

Now, here's where we were wrong-- we assumed that Indiana actually PLOWS its roads... or, at the least, its highways. But that was, in fact, a very unintelligent assumption, because 37 north (used by THOUSANDS of people to get from Bloomington to Indy, and vice versa, EVERY DAY) was completely covered in snow and ice. We did see many trucks with plows on them, but I think they just wanted to know how big their penises were, because NONE OF THEM WERE PLOWING.

Ted and I got to Martinsville after a little over an hour (it usually takes like... 15-20 minutes), and decided to give up and turn around. We didn't want to risk crashing into a snowy ditch to see the show. So, we turned around in Martinsville, and started heading down 37 south. After about half an hour, we arrived at a dead stand-still... Apparently, a huge truck slid across the highway, and was blocking pretty much the entire thing. Good times. So, after about an hour, we finally got moving again, and slowly made our way back to Bloomington.

I used an entire quarter tank of gas on the trip (which is a lot for my gas-saving Cavalier), so when we got back to Bloomington, I stopped at a gas station. Nearby, a pick-up truck was stuck at the side of the road, and a guy was trying to push it up the road. While I was getting gas, Ted went to go help the guys with the pickup truck (because he's the nicest person ever). A cop was also pulled over behind the pick-up truck, and we assumed that the cop was there to HELP the guys stranded on the side of the road. However, the cops had just pulled over to tell the guys in the pickup truck to get off the road... Oh, okay cops. Thanks. We weren't TRYING to get off the road. We were just planning on chilling here in the snow for the night. Stupid cops.

So, Ted helped the guys push the truck to their desired destination... and then we got pizza and went to Ted's apt. Man oh man, frickin snow.

Ok, my spaghetti has just arrived. I must go eat it!

More to come... perhaps

Sorry to hear you missed the concert...those friggin hoosiers, don't they know when to plow their highways? What's up with that?
Here in The Lou, the streets were plowed quickly after the huge snowfall...But hey, you chose to attend college in the state whose nickname is really "bumfuck", so deal with it...xoxox Mammy

My momma came to visit on Thursday. She left Bloomington to return to Indy at 1:15 in the afternoon. It took her four hours to get to 71st & Keystone. Good times.

You post pics of stuff on George, and I'll post pics of stuff on The ZZA.
