So, I worked the overnight shift from 7 pm on July 4th through 8 am on July 5th. I started out parking in the Business School Garage, where it's free if you leave the lot anytime between midnight and 8 am. However, since I wouldn't get there till about 8:10 am, I moved my car to the metered spots at the Main Library around 6:00 am. The metered spots are free from 10 pm until 7 am on weekdays. SO, I waited until 7 am, then went down to my car to put an hour's worth of change in the meter (because you can't pay for more than 1 hour at a time on the meters). I get to my car at EXACTLY 7:00 am, and the oh-so-friendly meter maid is right there, printing me out a parking ticket. I ran up to her and said "You don't need to give me a ticket, I'm here to put change in the meter," and she said "Well, it's already printing out, you're getting a ticket." I tried to argue, saying that it was EXACTLY 7:00 am, and she said "Well, you have to start paying at 7:00 am" WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS OUT THERE DOING.
If she's still there on my way out, she may or may not have my license plate imprinted on her shins.

I would have kept on her until we were screaming. because that's how i roll, yo. I can teach you how, if you'd like.
Protest it. I guarantee they'll waive the ticket.
Did you tell her to go fist herself? Sometimes that works.
