So, I was thinking... Instead of grad school and/or a job, I just want to do nothing. It reminded me of a wonderful excerpt from Office Space:

PETER
Lawrence, what would you
do if you had a million dollars?

LAWRENCE
I'll tell you what I'll do, man--Two chicks at the same time.

PETER
That's it? If you had a million dollars, that's what you'd do, two
chicks at the same time?

LAWRENCE
Damn straight, man. I've always wanted to do that. I figure if I were a
millionaire, I could hook that up. Chicks dig guys with money.

PETER
Well not all chicks….

LAWRENCE
Well, the type that double up on a guy like me do.

PETER
Good point.

LAWRENCE
Now, what would you do?

PETER
Besides two chicks at the same time?

LAWRENCE
Oh yeah.

PETER
Nothing.

LAWRENCE
Nothing, huh?

PETER
I would relax, I would sit on my ass all day, I would do nothing.

LAWRENCE
You don't need a million dollars to do nothing, man. Take a look at my
cousin. He's broke and don't do shit.

Very good point. I'll think about it.

Anyway, I started my "new lifestyle" yesterday. I'm not looking at it as a new year's resolution because I think those are meant to not be upheld. I worked out yesterday and today, and I'm going back tomorrow with Katie. It's working out well this week, but I have nothing going on besides work at night, so it's easy to go to the gym. It'll be a challenge when classes start, but hopefully it'll work out... haha get it? Work out?

Here are the classes I will be taking this semester:

  • HPER-C403: Public Health Program Planning
  • HPER-H464: Coordinated School Health Programs
  • SPEA-H316: Environmental Health & Science
  • MATH-M119: Brief Survey of Calculus (I think I just threw up in my mouth)
  • Research with Dr. Reece, as part of SHRWG
  • Internship with Positive Link, working for their Latino Outreach Project
Good times! My classes should be interesting (sans calculus), but I think it'll be a busy semester.

So, I just joined the American Association of Health Educators (AAHE). I get 2 publications, plus I can go to the AAHE conference in March for cheaper... That's the conference where I get presented with the "IU Public Health Education Undergraduate of the Year" award. Luckily, the conference is happening during my spring break, so I'll be able to go to it.

In other news, I accidentally burnt my face with my straightening iron this evening. I don't think it left a mark, but it's sore. Amy told me that face scars are really cool, so I may hold the iron on my face for a little longer next time.

Don't worry, it didn't leave a mark. Oh, and didn't you hear? It's not cool to look "natural." I try to look as plastic as possible. Is it working?
