I saw The Hold Steady at Jake's on Saturday night. It was an awesome show-- good old-fashioned rock and roll. They were all having a good time, playing hard, and rockin out. It was refreshing to see a band having fun, appreciating their fans, and not being pretentious douchebags.My love for the band (the lead singer especially) was confirmed when the lead singer said "There is so much joy in what we're doing here". That's the way music should be.
